Adding header and footer to a site
Header and footer are elements that repeat automatically on every page of a site or a publication. Block at the top can be made into a header and block at the bottom can be made into a footer.
A basic simplified site structure.
- Top bar, which is also called "header"
- In the middle is the content area
- Bottom bar, which is also called "footer"
The main menu of the site is located in the header. See instructions for making navigation.
You can use block templates for making header or footer. See instructions.
Header
- Open block settings by clicking the gear icon with dark background
- Click Make Header
Footer
- Go to block settings
- Click Make Footer
Header settings
When you have changed the top bar to a header, you can see the header settings. You can show header on top of page content or make header background transparent when page scroll is in top position. Make sure that the header is displayed correctly not only on the front page, but also on other pages.
You can change the header or footer to a regular block by selecting "Make regular block" from the settings.
